Sausage & Green Bean Casserole

1 medium onion, cut into narrow slivers
1 c coating (bread) crumbs
2 tb butter
14oz Kielbasa or Italian sausage, thinly sliced
3-14 1/2oz cans French style green beans, drained
1 c heavy cream
3 c shredded cheddar


  1. preheat oven to 375º
  2. sauté onions in butter, when browned add crumbs. Continue to cook until brown. Set aside.
  3. melt cheese in cream, add green beans, sausage and half the onion/crumb mixture.
  4. Pour into 9 x 13 pan. Top with remaining onions/crumbs.
  5. Bake 30 minutes until bubbly
